Transformation of Sentences
You have learnt about different types of sentences in your previous classes like the
Assertive Sentences which can be Affirmative or Negative Sentences, Interrogative
Sentences and Exclamatory Sentences.
The type of sentence can be changed accordingly, like Assertive Sentence can be changed
into Interrogative Sentence.
For example:
We will meet tomorrow. (Assertive Sentence)
Will we meet tomorrow? (Interrogative Sentence)
Transform the following sentences according to directions given along with.
1. Are you not going to see the movie? (Change to affirmative)
2. This painting is much better than the previous one. (Change to negative)
3. My mother has given me a new pen. (Change to negative)
4. This is a beautiful rose. (Change to exclamatory)
5. Mother and I will not come today. (Change to interrogative)
6. What a wonderful sight is this! (Change to assertive)
7. Were you aware of the impending disaster? (Change to assertive)
8. How long are you going to take to reach the school? (Change to assertive)
9. He is the only one who have solved this question. (Change to interrogative)
10. Ankit’s brother is taller than him. (Change to interrogative)
Listen to another such story in which the character has a habit of forgetting things and how
this becomes troublesome for him / her.

Never let a thought shrivel and die,
For want of away to say it;
For english is a wonderful game,
And all of you can play it.
